Do you suffer from HALITOSIS or have your friends or family told you your breath reeks or stinks? Research has shown that millions of people suffer from this condition. Most times, the bad odor is caused by poor oral hygiene, bacteria wastes in the mouth, tonsil stones, food particle decay, or medication use. It can also signify a health problem. Halitosis can also be made very obvious if you eat certain types of foods, have unhealthy lifestyle habits, use poorly fitted dentures/prosthesis, or have mouth infections, tooth abscesses or cavities. There are different ways to prevent or reduce bad breath; some of them include practicing good oral hygiene by regular flossing and brushing your teeth twice a day, seeing your dentist at least twice a year, stopping tobacco use/smoking, and drinking lots of water. If your bad breath persists, see your dentist or a specialist for a more thorough check-up.
