BLOOD PRESSURE CATEGORY SYSTOLIC mm Hg (upper number)
DIASTOLIC mm Hg (lower number)
NORMAL LESS THAN 120 and LESS THAN 80
Elevated BP: 120– 129 and LESS THAN 80
HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE (HYPERTENSION) STAGE 1: 130– 139or80 – 89HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE (HYPERTENSION) STAGE 2:140 OR HIGHER or 90 OR HIGHER
Hypertensive Crisis: (consult your doctor immediately)HIGHER THAN 180and/orHIGHER THAN 120
Diabetes
Hemoglobin A1C :
Less than 5.7- no diabetes
5.7-6.4- Prediabetes
Greater or equal to 6.5- Diabetes
*Glycemic control for diabetics: HgA1c less than 7
